Corporate Wellness

Corporate Wellness

How healthy is your organization? People spend most of their waking hours engaged in work, whether in an office or boardroom or working from home. With new considerations in the work environment, companies have to be able to pivot and keep up employee morale and loyalty while navigating the realities of an often-remote workforce. Employee burn-out and mental health-related issues impact organizations at every tier, while turn-over takes a toll on productivity. Corporate Wellness takes a deep, personalized dive into your corporate culture. Are there hidden, systemic barriers that need to be addressed? Are your employees happy to be working with you? From individual interviews to a bird's eye view, corporate wellness can refresh and revive everyone in the organization.

What is Corporate Wellness?

Clients often talk to us about the issues they have at work, and how stressful it is to be in a toxic work environment. While we can provide counselling for individuals, sometimes the issue is systemic - the direction for change has to come from the top.

People in organizations get used to doing things a certain way, whether it’s how they relate to each other, the level of accountability they take, or how much or little they invest in their professional finesse and productivity. Sometimes, those patterns can become dysfunctional, and eventually the “way things are” will restrict organizations from gracefully navigating change and maintaining loyalty.

Corporate Wellness is our solution to the issue of “weird vibes” at work. With a targeted and comprehensive approach, we help organizations identify the hidden issues, increase buy-in at all levels, and develop a training program to solve them.

Why Should You Work with Us?

We have been providing Corporate Wellness for over 18 years to a variety of organizations. We have worked with non-profits, community organizations, start-ups, multi-million dollar corporations, schools and daycares, youth camps, and government organizations. We have even provided Corporate Wellness for prison staff! We are able to adapt our Corporate Wellness program to many different work environments, and ensure that the people who work for you and with you feel like their voices are heard, their needs are addressed, and real change is possible.

Unlike other consultants who encourage “Change Management”, we target the psychological health of your workplace. We closely explore individual and team needs and barriers, then map those on to the growth potential of the organization. Companies grow when their people are willing to grow, both personally and professionally. With us, you will get a roadmap to personal and inter-personal stability and productivity within your work environment, highlighting short and long-term strategies for your organization's Corporate Wellness.

The final reason you would decide to work with us is our commitment to integrity, transparency, and excellence. If we do not think we are the right fit for you, we will not waste your time or money. We will direct you to others that may be able to help. If we do feel like we can make a difference for your organization and decide to work with you as our client, you will have our undivided attention and care. We only contract one Corporate Wellness program at a time to ensure you are receiving the best of our resources as we develop a thoughtful and customized plan for your organization.

Once you decide to work with us, here are the steps:

1. Intake Survey

Once you decide to work with us, you or someone from your HR Department will fill in our Intake Survey. You will need to take 10-15 minutes to complete this step as it gives us a detailed snapshot of the needs of your organization and saves us time and energy down the line.

2. Initial Consultation

Once you have completed that step, you will get an email that we have reviewed your form with an invitation to book an Initial Consultation. This is a 20-minute phone call where we will develop a plan to begin the Research Phase.

3. Research Phase

Next, we move into the Research Phase. You will provide contact information for a number of people from different tiers in your organizations. We will then send them a brief survey, followed by a calendar booking for their personalized 15-20 minute telephone interview. We will then provide a collated Summary Report of all the feedback received from staff and management, ensuring any personal information remains confidential.

4. Training Phase

After the Research Phase, we move to the Training Phase. Based on the Summary Report, we will develop an online or in-person training program for the people in your organization. We may develop an additional training session for the leadership team if required. These will be delivered in-person or online by our Corporate Trainer, who is a professional educator and public speaker and is trained in Systems Theory and Transpersonal Psychology. We will ensure the training is engaging, educational, and practical, with a call to action for the participants.

5. Evaluation Phase

After the Training Phase, we move to the final stage which is the Evaluation Phase. During the Evaluation Phase, we will conduct a follow-up survey which will lead to the Executive Report. This will be a physical document filled with observations and recommendations for your organization moving forward. As a final courtesy of the Evaluation Phase, we provide a 3-month and 6-month follow-up to see if the changes we envisioned together have been sustainable.

Frequently Asked Questions

______________________________

Q: How long does the whole process take?

This is an immersive process, and while we don’t want it to take forever, we also don’t want to rush through critical parts.

The Research Phase takes 3-5 weeks depending on the size of your organization. The Training Phase will be complete 2-3 weeks later. The Executive Report will be ready 2-3 weeks later.

In total, the time from Initial Survey to Executive Report can range from 8-12 weeks.

Q: Is there any reason we would NOT want to engage in Corporate Wellness?

Not really. Most people start exploring Corporate Wellness when things have been going wrong in the organization and people are at a breaking point. While reasonable, this is a reactive approach and it’s often more difficult to implement change and boost morale when things have been bad for a long time. However, it can be done!

If, on the other hand, you are seeing the early simmering of discontent or if things are generally good and you want to capitalize on the harmony in the workplace, Corporate Wellness can give you a plan that will help every tier quickly course-correct and address early warning signs.

Q: What are the risks to individuals and our organization?

In the spirit of transparency, we have to be honest about the risks of this process.

A critical part  of our process is the personal interviews. During those interviews, things may be said about individuals in the organization that are less than favourable. In order to keep an organization healthy, we believe you need to know what is going on, even if it isn’t pretty. We may find that there are particular individuals who are a consistent source of upset for several other people. While we do not disclose who has shared the information, if we do uncover this pattern, we will discreetly let you know and discuss an individualized plan to help this person make the changes needed to be more of a team-player.

Another risk is simply the process of engaging in any type of survey in the workplace. As soon as you ask people what they think about work, they begin to think of their quality of life and how the workplace environment is contributing to their lives overall. Engaging in this process may highlight that their role in the company is not the best fit for them and they want to make some changes. In our experience when this happens, people strive for upward movement, which is a great side effect! In a small number of cases, a handful of people may decide they want to move on and work elsewhere if they do not see sustainable changes implemented in a meaningful way after the final phase.
